Could you tell us a little about yourself?
Hi everyone, my name is Edward Daniel. I am a vegan chef, practising solicitor and presenter. I have a book that has just been released. It’s called Essence: The Beginner’s Guide to Veganism. Some people may know me as Ethivegan, the name of my recipe blog and Youtube channel.
I have always wanted to support others to lead a kinder life, and perhaps, that is how everything began. Since turning vegan, I was elected as Chair of The Vegan Society; probably one of my greatest accomplishments. I learned about leadership and this experience empowered me to become a change-maker.
Today, I am a vegan chef, spiritual coach, author, and a speaker. I travel across the country and abroad to meet inspirational people to share their stories on my YouTube channel. I also speak at some well-known festivals across the UK and Europe.
How long have you been vegan for, and how and why did you make that decision?
I have been vegan for approximately 5 years now. I recall it was just at the end of the Mayan calendar (21 December 2012) and we had just come into the new year. It was January 2013, and I remember I had this moment of enlightenment. As I found myself examining the slab of animal flesh in the palm of my hand, I felt a certain uneasiness within. A realisation dawned on me that I had participated in the harm and suffering of this animal. I felt a connection with the universe.
It was at that moment that I decided not to participate or contribute to any more suffering in this world. It was a spiritual decision to turn vegan; I want to cause the least amount of harm possible. In anchoring the Light I want to bring in a cruelty-free world filled with love and kindness.
How long have you been a chef for?
Approximately, 4 and a half years. In exploring my new life path as a vegan, I wanted others to experience my journey and in experimenting with food. I wanted to show that it was possible to have equally nutritious alternatives. I asked myself “What is stopping me from becoming vegan?” and the only answer I could find was “good food”. Since then, I created the Ethivegan blog and gained confidence in my cooking skills. I share my recipes with my future goal of having a TV show that is dedicated to showing how easy it is to lead a plant-based and holistic lifestyle.
Your book sounds really interesting, could you tell us a little about it – where the inspiration came from, and what people can expect from it.
I went to see a couple of clairvoyants back in 2013, I had my own law firm in the city. They both taught me to listen to my intuition. One mentioned that I would write 3 books and after the first book I would be on TV. I had never thought of writing and this insight intrigued me.
Initially, ‘Essence: The Beginner’s Guide to Veganism’ was intended to be a recipe book but also I wanted to cover themes on spirituality. This first book deals with the past and themes of letting go, forgiveness, blame, transient relationships, boundaries, and integrity. I wanted to share my experience with the world, and I soon realised there was not much information out there that explained the interaction between veganism and spirituality.
I believe we all are connected to the vibrational energy that attracts us on Earth. Animal life is a much denser spiritual vibrational energy. Therefore, it is more difficult to absorb emotionally. Veganism has allowed me to shift and reach a deeper level of consciousness. Just as the plant kingdom relies on the mineral kingdom for its nutrients, so we can choose to rely on the plant kingdom for our nutrients.
Veganism has allowed me to shift my level of awareness towards the harm we cause to one another, the harm we cause other animals and the harm we cause to the environment. I believe everyone has a story to tell and a life path to discover, so I wanted to share my journey with the world.
I believe we all are connected to the vibrational energy that attracts us on Earth.
What’s your favourite recipe in there and why?
For me the Fig and Apple Stew. Perhaps, because it is a simple recipe yet equally rich and nutritious.
What do you think makes this book different to other vegan cookbooks on the market?
My cookbook is more than that. It allows the reader to become immersed in a new dimension of spirituality, that leads to a discovery of inner peace and a connection between spirituality and the food we eat. The book not only has mouth-watering recipes, it also contains emotive poetry, it looks at the “Why Go Vegan”, the Fifth Dimension of Consciousness, the Schumann Resonance, Twin Flames and Destiny. The recipes I share are easy to make, full of flavours, nutritious, wholesome and each recipe carries all the nutritional information you’ll need.
When is the book out and where will people be able to buy it?
The book is only available on my website at www.ethivegan.com – I wanted to retain a personal relationship with my audience and readers.
The book is self-published and is virtually self-funded, with a little help from my best friend and my longest-term friend.
What do you have planned for 2018?
Currently, I am visualising having my own television show on mainstream television. I believe that if we live in alignment, treat others with the respect, honour and compassion, we can achieve all our goals. In the nearest future, I’ll be speaking at Vegan Life Live London in February – I hope to see you there!
Anything else you’d like to add?
Everything is happening so quickly, I feel life is speeding up exponentially. I am living my perfect life – I get to practise as a media solicitor in the city. I get to create vegan recipes. I get to interview trailblazers. What more is there for me? Life is about living in the Fifth Dimension of consciousness, where manifestation is instantaneous. Anything, which we want spiritually is available to us. All timelines are achievable (this is all explained in my first book and more so in the second book). I am currently writing my second book and this is perhaps my greatest achievement because I have had the practice of writing a first book – which I never thought I would write in the first place.
If you want to lead a vegan and holistic lifestyle, then isn’t it time to join me on a journey?
